Five Is the Magic Number Layout Challenge

Post by debraruffing »

And the winner of the Five is the Magic Number is ta-da...Donna_Coughlin!  Congratulations!  Thank you all who participated in the challenge.  I loved seeing what you created using fives.  They were all wonderful!

Friday, May 1, 2020 to Saturday, May 9, 2020 8:00 PM EST

Five is a special number for me because there were five in my family growing up and every house I have lived in has had the number five in the address!  This  challenge is for a layout using five papers, five photos, and at least five embellishments.  It can be a single page or double page layout.  If you include the number 5 itself in any form (handwritten, number sticker, printed, metal, wood…anything you have handy) I will sprinkle you!  Any theme is great!  My sample is below and I am excited to see what you do with “five”!  Gather up your supplies and photos and take a quick photo of what you will work on this week.  Before Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 8 PM EST post a photo of the finished product.  “The winner of this challenge will receive ECHO PARK-FAMILY NIGHT COLLECTION PACK, generously sponsored by PHOTOPLAY.”  The prize will be awarded Saturday, May 9, 2020.

I was just deciding what to use for the motion challenge and one of my options had 5 photos. So, I will use the 5 photos for this, and the other choice for the other challenge.

What a great challenge and example! Are you saying 5 patterned papers or are you including cardstock in that?

Christmas pages have never really appealed to me but wouldn't you know, the only 5 photos I could put my hands on are Christmas photos! Because I don't scrap Christmas often, I just have one iris case of Christmas goodies. Thats it.

Done! 5 patterned papers (the Bingo is from a super old Basic Grey patterned paper I finally cut into...), 5 embellishments from a punch out sheet, 5 white stickers from the Wander Thicker sheet, 5 photos & 5 people in the photos.

This was a fun challenge.  I used 5 photos of my husband's Quarantine Birthday as we like to call it, Crate Paper Hooray collection, 5 random 6x6 torn sheets of paper behind the photos, an old camera paperclip, glitter stars from some old kit, Hooray die cuts,  Thickers and chipboard, and the number 5 in the date of his birthday.  I have been stuck in a rut when it comes to design and this one gave me an idea for something new!  Thank you!
